PICTURES! Finally...

Hello everyone! We have actually gotten around to updating the blog! We will try to take you on a little tour of MaryJane's first 7 weeks. What a 7 weeks it has been. As all of you know by now, she was born very, very cute and in very good health. She was 8lbs. 7oz. and 20 1/4" long. She was a bit fussy at first getting used the eating aspect of life, but once she got the hang of it, she was all for it. She has been sleeping better at night and even slept for 7 hours straight last night! She's getting very big, very quickly and is already up to almost 12lbs. Well enough talking, here's what you've been waiting for!....

This is our first family picture together.
Mommy was in and out of sleep while also feeling a lot of pain and pressure.  Not the best experience ever, but once they got MaryJane out and peeked her little face over the curtain, all pain was forgotten!  She was so beautiful!  Mommy was a little shocked, however.  Throughout the entire pregnancy it was thought there was a boy in there.  What a great surprise!!!  Here is another delivery room picture of the little cutie with her very happy Daddy!

This is a picture of the first time Mommy got to hold MaryJane.  Still a little out of it.  After 24 hours of labor, two hours of pushing, about three hours of sleep, and loads of drugs...it's a miracle mommy had her eyes open and remembered how to smile!

This is just another picture of MaryJane being a little cutie pie.  There will be a lot of those on here.

Now, MaryJane was born with a full head of hair (not as much as her cutie cousin Phoebe, but a lot).  That hair has to be washed.  This is a picture of MaryJane getting her hair washed during her very first bath, given by the nice nurse lady.  At first, it looks like she couldn't be having a better time...

However, when the nice nurse lady started peeling the flesh from her skull with a fine tooth comb, the fun came to a stop.

After her bath, it was time for bed.  She was very relaxed and we got a few good pictures before she went to sleep.
This is her little monkey face!  She still does this all the time when she is really excited or is filling her diaper!!  Either way, such a cute face!

I'm sooooo cute!

After getting home and resting with mommy for a few days, we had a big 4th of July party with cousins Phoebe and Joey! WOOHOO!  Auntie Sarah got a festive outfit for MaryJane so she could match her cousins and do a patriotic themed photo shoot.  What fun to see the babies so alert and smiling!
MaryJane says: "Cousin Joey was ready to party as usual...(just like his Daddy!)  We took lots of pictures with our Red, White and Blue outfits and drank gallons of milk!  It was a great time."

"Cousin Phoebe loves me a whole lot! She's always good for smooches and she gave me a sweet little kiss after we got done talking about our first tea party."

"Here is a cute picture of me looking at my big cousin Joey.  He will be my protector.  He is only 3 months older than me yet he is 12 times my size!  I love him very much!"

After a long day of picture taking and milk drinking MaryJane was a little tired so she caught some z's while Mommy held her.

At her first Dr. appt. she had to get some blood taken.  The rest of the appt. was fine and the Dr. said she was doing very well.  If you'll notice the band-aid though, only one memory will be taken from this place today.

Here is a picture of 4 generations of the Hammond bloodline together.  Great Grandpa Elmer, Grandma Pam, Daddy and cutie pie.

It is a little hard to see, but if you look close you can see that MaryJane has a little mohawk!  This was not on purpose, which made it even more cute.  Mommy put her hair in a little bow and after the bow was out she was left with this cute hairdo!
She likes to smile in her sleep.  It's the cutest thing ever!  Below are some random photos of her and her many faces.
Here are some pictures of MaryJane's first camping trip with Grandpa Derringer on his Birthday!  She had lots of fun outside and was a good girl all night!
MaryJane loves her 2 doggies!  And they love her!  Violet, is on the left and Lily on the right.  Mommy and Daddy were not quite sure how the dogs would behave with this "little creature" in their house.  Lots of sniffing and looking at first.  It was shortly discovered that Lily is very protective of MaryJane.  Any little cry or noise and Lily comes running!  Also likes to stand on her hind legs and watch MaryJane on the changing table.  Pretty cute stuff!!!!
Bath time is getting much better nowadays!  Lots of smiling and cooing goin on!  Way better than the blood curdling screams we experienced just a few weeks ago.
Now we will let you look at some more of the cute and funny faces she makes that we get to enjoy on a daily basis.  Hopefully we will keep this updated a little bit better from now on...  We're not promising anything though.  We love you all.  See you soon.
